From the Chair of SD Canada
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I would like to briefly describe the organization of Susila Dharma Canada. It is a Canadian registered charitable association founded in 1985 and managed solely by volunteers who are Subud members and responsible through an elected board of directors to its members. Anyone can become a member of our association provided they pay a membership fee of $20, but only Subud members have voting rights at our annual general meetings.
The mission of SDCanada is to relieve human suffering and promote just and sustainable development.
Through donations of individual Subud members and businesses as well as some non-Subud organizations we are able to fund social projects in various parts of the world. We support projects in the areas of health, agriculture, education, elder and orphan care, development and prison reform at this time.
Although we will always have a need for monetary donations, an equally important contribution Subud members can make is in volunteer time to strengthen our organization. We have need for directors, project liaisons, executive members such as secretary and treasurer and other positions in communication, fundraising and project development.
I would like to refer you to our web site at susiladharma.ca for further information about our organization and the projects it supports.
With care, love and respect
Ramsey Oren, Chair, Susila Dharma Canada
